Today I gave blood. I'd done it once before, but now it has much more meaning seeing how Roscoe benefitted from the blood that other people had donated. I don't know how much he received via transfusion during his lifetime, but I'm pretty sure that I have about a decade of blood donations ahead of me to try and pay it back:
Now you are being a good example to us to be better givers!
ReplyDeleteMy dad was a regular donor all my life & his example of service to the community in this way inspired me to do the same. I donated regularly to an account for my young coworker Jeremy who later lost his fight with leukemia. Although he died, his transfusions taught me the vital need for the help of healthy donors. I always think of him & Teri's dad Ron & now i will think of Roscoe when i give. Their courage inspires me to remember Jesus' words, "it is more blessed to give than to receive."
ReplyDeleteWhat blood type was Roscoe?
